The fourth (and from what I understand, final) 767-300ER in LOT's fleet will have Star Alliance livery. The airline will dry-lease it for two years. Below is the link to the picture showing the plane being prepared for LOT at Brussels.

The change has come to America.

I believe this 767 started life with Varig as PP-VOK but has now been re-registered as SP-LPE for LOT.

The aircraft looks great, not older than a 330 or a 777.

What I find strange is the variety of SA schemes (just the last livery)

Altough I cannot confirm it with a picture,
I saw it's tail in Varig colors a few months ago before hangar 41/42 (Sabena technics) at BRU!

I wonder if it will have "Polskie Linie Lotnicze" on the other side of the aircraft or will it be in English? Come to think of it, do the other Star Alliance planes in LOT's fleet have dual language writing on them?

Just watching the birds go by is good enough for me.

Am I the only person who is sad when an airplane goes from the usually creative colors of their respective airlines to the (in my opinion) boring and hideous colors of Star Alliance? Sure, it's important to show that you're a member of Star Alliance, but surely there's a more attractive way to show it...

Believe you me, you aer not the only one. One of the joys for me of watching aircrafts is for their livery. I can't tell you how disappointed I was last night when I went to JFK to see the Austrian 767-300 come in and it was the white tail Star Alliance plane for Lauda.

I am very tired of seeing all types of Star Alliance painted aircraft. A nice small logo towards the front of the plane, like most of their fleet, will do just fine.

Edit: Is this the reason LOT has been using an Icelandair (Loftleideir Icelandic) 763 from Poland to JFK for the past couple of days?

It is indeed the reason. Apparently the checks and repainting of the new 767 from Varig have taken longer than anticipated so LOT have had to wet lease a Loftleidir Icelandic 767 until July 1st to fill unexpected shortfall in capacity.

Indeed SP-LPE is former PP-VOK, confirmed by c/n. Also note it is a -341ER. 41 is Varig's Boeing code.

Cheers
