That was LAN flight 570, the morning departure from Santiago to Miami via Bogota. Diverted to Orlando due to weather.

I was driving down Semoran blvd. and saw what looked like a 763 in the old colors of Lan Chile at dusk so decided to drive down to MCO and there it was on terminal A.

I thought it had to be a diversion. Probably the only time LAN has been back at MCO since they briefly operated here back in 1999.

Nowadays seeing foreign non-scheduled passenger charters at MCO is rare.. how times change!

Did it say Lan Chile Cargo? I wasn't in Orlando for those 4 months to see it but there has been rare aircraft at that UPS ramp before. I once saw a Martinair DC-10 on that ramp (not the MD-11) back in the early 1990s.

NO , it was a regular passenger 767-300 and it looks like it was stored or a delivery from Boeing. One thing is for sure it looked awsome .

The number of Central-Southamerican airlines serving the Orlando - Tampa area is very low. I can only think of TA and CM @ MCO.

Until 2001 Transbrasil operated a daily non-stop service GRU-MCO with 767-300. The airline went bankrupt then, after that no other airline showed interest in this route. Funny because it had very good loads for TR at that time.
