I just saw this on the news.....

The pilot was on approach to Addison airport in a museum-owned AT-6 WWII trainer, the landing gear didn't lock so he decided to belly land the plane, which went into a skid and ended up in the grass, both he and his passanger were unscathed, airport is closed pending investigation.

BTW: I wasnt sure where to post so I put it in Civil Av. because the plane is museum-owned so I guess that makes it more civil than military.... (?)

Try not to be jealous, we can't all be Czech.

Aw, shucks, that's a sweet restoration. Too sad.

Looks like a clean belly landing, though, and I imagine it'll be back in shape in no time. They run an outstanding museum at Cavanaugh, planes that fly, not just gather dust.

...three miles from BRONS, clear for the ILS one five approach...
