What's Up With The "near Misses" @ LAX?

I've been watching "Today in LA" on NBC4 and the top news headline this morning has been some very close near misses @ LAX this month, FOUR (4) in total this month with three of them being in the last week.

Does anyone have any "inside" information and or thoughts on this potentially disasterous situation? This is really bad.
