The head of Bombardier mentioned in a Montreal paper during the Paris Air Show that AF demonstrated the highest interest towards Bombardier's C series.

The aircraft could be an interesting F100/737 replacement.

F-28 and F-70/100 maybe, but a 737 it is not.

It depends if you're looking at adding capacity per flight or adding flights to meet capacity.

There will be two main versions of the C serries; 110 seats/130 seats.

The 130 seats version would be an excellent fit to replace the 737s.

This puppy moves ahead and Midwest has found the perfect aircraft. They'd be able to do 80 seats in the 110 and 96 in the 130, all business for about $10 a seat more than Southwest if BBD's numbers are right.

Bombardier had the C-Series sales team out in force at LeBourget with the full scale mockup for airline reps to visit that had a steady stream of traffic throughout the day.

Thanks for the picture! What are your first impressions of this mock up?

How does the C series compare to the Embraer 190/195's?

Has LH or any other European carrier also shown intrest?

What airlines are intrested in the C series?

Just beautiful! Love the 2+3 Y configuration... I often find myself planning itineraries around aircraft with just two seats together. And what a beautiful cabin. Has a sort of bright, airy bizjet feel, no? A completely different aesthetic than the DC9s I grew up with.

The 130 seat version is in an all eco config. with 32inch seat pitch. The typical AF seat pitch on short haul craft is 30-31 inch. Even if you throw 14-16J into the mix, the aircraft will seat at least 115 pax.

I'm talking about Midwest that puts 88 seats in a 717. That's going to be a sweet ass aircraft.

That doesn't mean anything. That would be the case with anything new. People just like to see new stuff, thats all. A guy may eye thousands of women but he only marries one(at least, one at a time, in the US  Smile).

Oooo, bad analogy! I can see the discussions about "fully owned vs leased" and DMC already!

I highly doubt the C series will replace 737s at AF , since this job is already done by the 318s and 319s.Very few 737s are still in the AF fleet.
When the head of Bombardier stated that AF is interested in Bombardier C series , he is a little bit wrong.
Air France is still studying along Bombardier C series , the EMB families , the New Fokker70 , and even the Russian RRJ , but NOT for the MAINLINE fleet , but only for thier FRANCHISE partners , such as Regional and Britair.
What type they will choose , it will not be operated by AF , despite being painted in AF cs , but by the franchise partners.
Hope it's help.
