GB AIRWAYS, the BA franchise partner, is to launch three new mainly leisure destinations from Manchester this winter; Marrakech three times per week, and twice weekly services to both Grand Canaria and Lanzarote. This will complete a Canary Island trilogy in British Airways colours, as the airline increases the current twice-weekly flights to Tenerife South, to daily. The new services bring the total number of destinations served from Manchester by GB Airways to seven. Flights to Malaga, Paphos and Malta were launched earlier this year, plus three summer-only flights a week to Dubrovnik, which will stop for the winter and resume again in March 2006.

Another example of BA grasping at opportunity, and perhaps BMI missing the boat altogether!

I wouldnt hold your breath on these routes staying, they've pulled a few they launched with great gusto, Funchal is the latest to be chopped before its even started from MAN.

I would of had TFS as the morning rotation and AGP in the afternoon. I wonder if these flights will get IB codes.

BTW GT has a tour operator called Cadogan Holidays, which will sell holidays on these routes.

Some of the flying days will end in the early morning which the crew may not like at all.

I doubt very much TLN will return.

Buzz tried it and FR didn't continue it.

I flew TLN-LGW on GT on a Sunday in late October 2 years ago which was the last day of a school holiday and the flight was only 50% full.

I think they were hoping to woo the St Tropez/Cannes cowd, but perhaps they fly to NCE.

BA and U2 serve MRS very well from LGW. GT probably make much more money on LGW-IBZ than LGW-TLN.

Any chance of seeing GT take over BA abondened routes to Bilbao and Genoa?? Or any chance to see BA increase flights to TUN?

Next flights : BRU-ZRH-CAI (LX)/ BRU-FCO-TLV (AZ)

Bilboa-LHR-SCQ-LHR-Bilbao is operated by IB and has a BA code.

U2 tried LGW-Bilbao in addition to its twice daily STN-Bilbao route but the loads were not good in winter and it ended.

I think GT has developed a longish sector policy for Winter routes, ie going were the no frills carriers won't go.
