This coming Thursday will see a major change at Luton Airport. At midnight on Thursday 30th June the entire departures area, which currently occupies the old terminal building, will move to the upstairs area of the check-in hall.

http://www.abtn.co.uk/thisweek.html and go to ON TOUR at the bottom.

Anyone know whats going to happen to the old terminal that is currently the Airside Departure Lounge?

That article is interesting reading and airport sounds quite impressive with these new changes coming into place.

wow I didn't even know they'd built the new pier from the new terminal and I live in Luton!

''Luton airport's new 7400m2 departure lounge, shopping and catering complex is roomy and light and includes latest state-of-the-art boarding facilities''

Does this mean air bridges?? There doesn't seem to be any in the photo but it would be excellent if LTN got them.
Only found out because easyjet emailed me informing me of a change to the airport layout which may affect my flight in August.

I would be surprised if Luton got airbridges. I reckon it will be safe to say that you will still have to walk through all weathers to the plane steps. The likes of easyJet, Ryanair, Wizzair etc want to keep turnaround times as low as possible and tend not to use airbridges.
