Have any of you heard anything new about the whereabouts of this plane or what happened to it and the American flight engineer who disappeared with it?
The last thing I read was about this was an article in late 2004 which basically restated the fact that nobody knows what happened to the plane:

Alesandro is right. It was thought that the aircraft crashed of the coast of West Africa after being re-registered in Guinea and operated by Union des Transports Africains.
From what I can remember, the whole episode turned out to be a business dispute gone awry, and not anything terrorist related as feared by the U.S. Govt.
