I ran across this photo of a Sabreliner with two different registration numbers displayed at the same time.
The bottom left wing shows XC-UJS. The bottom right wing shows XC-UJE. The smaller registration number is best seen when "Large" size is selected.

I can't explain the different marks on the Sabreliner, but mistakes do happen. The fellow who painted my airplane a few years ago told me a former co-worker of his once made such a mistake when painting a 400-series twin Cessna. He goofed, transposed a couple of numbers, and the airplane went back to its owner with different registration marks on each side. The owner never noticed it until a controller pointed it out several months later.
