I will be flying America West from PIT-PHX-SAN and back on july 15 and 22. WHat are my chances of getting the new "leather" seats?

AWA has several new A320's and "1" 319 with the new seats in service and a new a/c (678AW) is scheduled to be ferried from the factory to PHX today.

Yes, the new a/c reg for the A320's are 676, 677, and with today's arrival, 678. I am not sure what the reg number is for the A319 that has these new seats, so chances are minimal but it is possible. Good luck! Smile

it does not hurt to write America West and request that you fly on their leather seat aircraft ... someone posted a picture of their new leather seats but I can't find the thread right here .... I'll keep looking around.

I don't think so, but i know that the NW DC-9s have 34'' of pitch in FC, as much as B6 in row's 11-26 of their A320s. Also NW in Domestic First has 36" of pitch, same as HP.

Ship 675 also has the leather. So, you will have a 4 in 58 chance if you are flying an A320 and a 1 in 34 chance if you are flying in an A319.

This was the original plan but the seats have the HP logo in them. So now, I am guessing that the changing of these seats is being put on hold until they come up with a new seat for after the merger.
