TAAG's livery is quite old-fashioned. Opportunity for a livery fresh-up because they ordered Boeing 777-200s?. Found these designs on this blog: http://liladesign.blogspot.com/

And me  Smile

What engines will power the new 772's, GE, RR or PW?

How many are they receiving, and when is the first delivery?

Rob!

what is the deal with "Lila Design?" I had a look at their website and am unclear, did they design the new WN "Maryland One" scheme?

I remember seeing some new designs from them for (I believe it was) Aloha. Were they asked to create these or are they just someone's hobby?

Clickhappy, I have seen the Aloha too but according to their information this is just a study to present the concerned freelance designer's skills.

That TAAG 772 in those new colours look very nice, wow!!!! I really hope Liladesign will get this one, a job very well done. I've met the designer of Liladesign and he is a good person. I really hope he will get this livery through to TAAG and that they will adopt it. Excellent job Liladesign!!!

Wow, that proposal from liladesign is indeed stunning. Different to everything, and would fit. Congratulations.
But I like TAAGs current livery. Although old, it doesn´t look oldfashioned. There are many, many other airlines who are in dire need of a new livery before TAAG is due.
Air China for example, and almost all other red chinese carriers, Indian Airlines, almost all turkish Airlines, Olympic, Malaysia, ...

No, nothing has been confirmed at this point. IIRC, the plan was to get 2-3 772ER's and 4-6 73G's.

Just like the Air Gabon order, I'll believe it when I see it. And I don't believe it'll ever see the light of day but I'd love to be proven wrong.

I would second Hamlet69; let them order the aircraft first........

I actully like their current livery and think that they should not change it.

I thought that too, but this appears to be a section dedicated to new colour schemes on the airways, rather than their own desgins. BTW dont reckon much to Europe Airpost's new colours!!

Uhh...

I didn't know TAAG has really ordered B772.
Doing a search in the forum, all I found is TAAG is just interested and has actually signed the deal with Boeing, but there is nothing confirmed yet, as they are waiting for financial help.

Is there anything confirmed?

I though that the B777 would be leased and not bought directly from Boeing. I also believe that the planes would be secondhand. It would be great to see these birds at Lisbon.

It will indeed be nice to see a 777 wearing the TAAG livery or even the new livery designed by Liladesign. It's a very nice design.

Yeah, and there are enough other African airlines which could use a repaint... Lila Design's new TAAG livery is also a much better attempt than for example the latest Ethiopean or Kenia Airways liveries.

I second that. It think their current livery is very well thought and pretty stunning when you see the 743 up close, which I did in GIG. I believe it's also one of the most original out there. They should keep it.

With a 743 from GIG twice a week TAAG is really doing very good loads, imagine with a 772. If they can provide a better network to Africa it can be an important channel for brazilian trade to Africa and a real option for SAA. Hope they can increase more and more their fleet. It's livery it's really amazing, i saw it on last saturday night.

Rgds,
Felipe

Toxtethogrady,

I am pretty sure TAAG wil put their B772s on the routes they fly their B743s like to LIS, CDG, GIG, and JNB.

I don't know how high demand is from Angola to the U.S. Where do the most Angolan people live in the U.S.? I've read in the forum that MIA has a quite large african population and probably New York too(?). I agree that TAAG Angola's current livery is still a classic and it would still be very nice to see a 777 wearing TAAG's current livery.
