In summer 2006 Excel Airways are to base an aircraft at Humberside in the UK. Humberside has had, on average, between 25 and 30 weekly IT flights in the last several years, but never a based machine. The aircraft will be a 737, but it is as yet unclear as to whether this will be a -400 or -800.
Destinations include Paphos, Rhodes, Alicante, Arrecife, Malaga, Dalaman and Tenerife and seats are bookable via XL.com and freedomflights.co.uk

At last, some positive news for HUY!
Whilst scheduled destinations are still very thin on the ground, the local population has learnt that they can easily reach most of the popular european holiday destinations from HUY and have been using these services well.
I'm sure that the Excel Airways decision will help strengthen this position and give a boost to the airport, now that it is having to look over it's shoulder at what is going on at DSA.
