LANEcuador with 767s (MIA-UIO-GYE), though I don't know if they carry local traffic on the route. Air Europa, Iberia, Air Madrid, and KLM all fly UIO-GYE, but can't carry local traffic.

Take Santa Barbara. They use a 727 on CCS-GYE-UIO and they take passengers beween GYE and UIO.
Aeropostal also flies CCS-GYE-UIO, but doens't seem to have traffic rights within Ecuador.

Taca flies this route, or at least did, as part of a LIM-UIO-GYE-LIM triangle. I flew on this back in July 2001, and I can't remember what kind of plane it was. I THINK an A320, but don't quote me on it.

I flew UIO-GYE-UIO on a TAME F28 in October 2003. To my knowledge, TAME uses A320, 727 and F28 on that route. ICARO also uses F28, and VIP sometimes flies with Do328.

They can only carry international pax on that sector.

It was a very short hop and the landing came so early that the flight attendants had to stop the drink service about three rows before me. Luckily, there was still the UIO-MIA sector left.  Wink

If you book your flight because of a specific aircraft, be aware that TAME might change it quite easily. Happened to me and to my dreams of flying B727 in Ecuador.  Sad

Yup, it must have been a 320... Now they have a flight SJO-UIO-GYE, but I don't think they have rights for UIO-GYE anymore.

Saludos

Really? Santa Barbara has cabotage rights in Ecuador?

I am flying tomorrow (Wednesday) on AeroGal at 1245pm departure. Anyone in flight scheduling can arrange a B727 for me? I miss those birds.
