I could see from the AC ramp at T1 that something was going on with the L-1011 this evening. There was police, and firetrucks all in attendance over at T3. Anybody know what happened?

Was it perhaps a different L1011? I haven't heard of Air Scotland starting operations, so that's somewhat confusing. I'm interested in knowing more as well.

Just to clarify, the L1011 was likely the Luzair CS-TMP that is operating on behalf of LOT.

alright, that makes sense then, since I didn't see LOT arrive last night. I assumed it was the Air Scotland Tristar since they were supposed to start ops to YYZ this summer with a couple of leased L1011's.

Air Scotland havent started using the L1011s yet, and probably wont.

Apparently the "emergency" was a fuel spill. Fire trucks were there to "clean" up the mess made by the fuellers.

And indeed - the L1011 was in fact CS-TMP operating the LOT flight to Poland. It appears that this was the second day in a row that CS-TMP has done YYZ-WAW - it also operated on July 3rd - pushed back out of gate C29 at around 2230 or so...

Thanks

I think that he is doubting that Air Scotland will take off.

They have been very quiet recently.

Air-Scotland have taken off....Their long haul hasn't though. They are now saying September at the earliest.

The L1011 was here again yesterday for LOT. If it's operating again today, it will make for a good day at YYZ, as an Omni DC-10 is scheduled to depart around 9pm, although that could change.

Indeed CS-TMP - the L-1011 - was in YYZ again on the 9th. Was it operating for LOT again?

As a second surprise, we got an El Al 757 here too - normally it's the 767, or rarely the 747 - but today was the B757. (today meaning Saturday)
(on a side note - there was an El Al 767 inside one of AC's hangars (hangar 7)

I believe the reg was 4X-EAJ. Anybody know anything about it? mech. probs maybe...
-- hangar 7 is the paint shop...

What time did that come in? I missed it. I left right after CS-TMP came in as LOT41. However, on Friday El Al flight 29 was also a 757 - North American's N755NA.

Yes, I have been seeing the North American 757 a few times. It seems like a few airlines are subbing aircraft quite a bit into YYZ. Did anybody actually catch the Omni DC-10?

The El Al B757 arrived at around 2000 or so... (can't remember exactly, but it was still here at 2330)

As for the Omni DC-10 - I didn't see it up close, but I'm guessing that it was the one parked by the Skyservice hangars mid-field -

There were 2 World MD-11's here as well - and the good ol' Antonov also made an appearance...

Overall - a good day for spotting at YYZ...
