I was just wondering when the first AC 330 will be repainted with the new colours.Because AC started to repaint a lot of 767's and a lot of 340's but didn't start the 330's.

not for a while as the:
1)Full color painting of aircraft is suspended until the fall due to high fleet utilization.
2)The planes are being painted when they are stripped down for major checks, and since the 330's are only a couple of years old it will be a while until they're painted

I don't believe that they are a couple years old. I think that the newest was delivered in 2001, which is 4 years old. Do airplanes get major checks every four years. If this is true, perhaps the major checks were done shortly before the new scheme was introduced.

Quoting Ba777-236 (Reply 2): I heard something about AC just wanting to keep the new tails, but old fuselages... FOREVER, as their "regular" colors, not just a transition scheme..

as i said before they've stopped full fuselage painting for the summer due to high fleet utilization. Once the slower winter season rolls around they'll start up painting the full planes again, not just decaling the tails.

The new colors makes AC look icy and cold... I think sticking to the old white clean would have been better.

It suits the stereotype of the average Canadian and the living conditions. After all we do live in igloos and travel on dog sleds, with our furry coats...
But back onto topic, I personally like the new colour scheme. The colours are definitely something special and unique from other airlines', and I'm glad that the re-painting is only being paused and will restart shortly.

I wasn't overly thrilled with the new colours when they first came out, but now that I have seen them in person I have to say that they're not so bad. In fact the more that I see them, the more that I like them. AC's new colours stand out from the rest of the crowd and are instantly recognisable, which is the whole point to painting the planes (to make them stand out for branding and marketing purposes).

I agree with you there but AC could of put..............I don't know............A whole red color scheme!?!...I just think there's something missing.

Quoting Olympus69 (Reply 5): So why do I keep seeing more A319s and A320s in the full new colour scheme?
Because they already painted some of the 319, 320, 321 in the full new colour scheme but almost all the others will just have the tail painted in the new colour.Because it is too expansive for Air Canada to paint those aircraft with the full new colour scheme.
But all this as not been decided yet maybe AC will decide to paint all their aircraft in the full new colour scheme.

Not only is it to save costs from promptly sending it to the paint shop, but it also would take the aircraft out of service for a bit. Like most airlines, they will wait for a D check or something major to completely repaint. The tail thing was a much easier quick fix and looks pretty decent. There is absolutely no reason to think that Air Canada would not give every aircraft the new scheme when the right time comes.

This is AC's word on the subject of its "new image".
"Air Canada’s initial target of applying the new image to 50 aircraft by July 1 was achieved on June 2. There are two separate programs – full fuselage painting in Toronto and application of a tail decal in Toronto and Winnipeg. During the summer, the fuselage program will take a break due to limited down
time of the aircraft. Tail decals will be applied to about 12 aircraft each month during July and August. In September, the fuselage program begins again with five planes scheduled, and three widebodies in each of October, November and December. By end of the year, 95 to 100 aircraft will be operating with the new image."
So, as you can see the full fuselage livery is going ahead without any changes other than a bit of a delay.

I'm a big fan of airlines that put some type of logo on the engines (or at least paint them a different colour from the rest of the aircraft). It would have been nice if Air Canada had added some red maple leafs to the engines (especially if they could have made them look as if they were blowing in the wind - e.g. angled away from the engine, the way the maple leaf looks on the Air Canada Jazz logo). That way there would have been a splash of colour and something neat and unique that really would have stood out. Who knows, maybe they will tweak the look a little bit and add them in the future.
Dreaming of the day I can work for an airline

27 AC7E7: I like that idea HanginOut. Airlines tend to tweak their liveries every few years, so I'm sure AC will do something with it in the future.
