Why does LH have more flights to Newark than to JFK? Didn't LH invest heavily in the new terminal one? By my last count, LH had three flights a day to Newark (MUC, DUS, and FRA) while just two (two daily to FRA).

Lufthansa has at least 20 flights a week from FRA to JFK + 1 daily flight which is operated by Singapore Airliines. 2 x B747-200, 1 x A340-300 (1 x SQ 747-400)
The MUC-EWR flights will be switched from A340-200 to A340-300 from October.
LH flights from Germany NYC:
3 daily Germany-JFK (FRA, FRA, FRA) + 1 SIA (FRA)
3 daily Germany EWR (FRA, MUC, DUS)

I didn't know about the A340 flight to JFK and I'm talking about LH aircraft, not code share. Still, why don't they fly to MUC and DUS from JFK? Why EWR?

'Cause EWR Rules... actually it's because EWR is a lot more convenient than JFK. New York is only $1.00 train fare away after they finish the monorail to downtown newark.

I remember around 9 years ago, Lufthansa flew 747s(Im pretty sure) to Dusseldorf from Kennedy.

Lufthansa will be increasing service to JFK to 3 times a day from FRA to JFK this summer. They also sell seats on the SQ flight from JFK to FRA. I have heard nothing of their decreasing flights from EWR though. Lufthansa seems to be one of those airlines who likes a little bit of everything. They fly 747-400's and they fly A340's; they fly into JFK, and they fly to EWR; etc.
