I was wondering if anyone could tell me what runways are in use at the moment at LHR? (The preferred answer is the "27s"!). I'm planning to go there this weekend and I was just wondering if they'll the using the right runways!

Also, has anyone reported problems due to increased security? I suppose I should be rethinking my visit, but I've already bought the ticket, so I'll only lose the money if I cancel.

Is there anywhere one can get a Met/ATIS report for London online?

Hey,

There will be increased security, it was mentioned on the BBC news last night. It would be foolish to cancel your booking now, so just keep it.

Thanks
Mike

Have any enthusiasts been to LHR, who could report on the situation? Is it OK to go? In particular, if the *&%@!! 09s are in use, will it be okay to use the field(s) under the approach for photos. Looks like this is going to be the way it is. Have people been chased away by the police?

I guess it's another 09 weekend?

Maybe not - between the time I posted and the time I left my flat and drove to work this morning they had switched to the 27s; still using them when I left work this evening.

Let's hope ... fingers crossed! I just don't fancy a hike down to that field in the current climate ... much better to watch from ye old Renaissance!
