Hi !

I read here in posts several months back that the first 777 for Lauda was going to be in Austrian Airlines livery and titles by June this year. Now it's July and no picture of one. Will this go thru or will they keep the 777s in the beautiful Lauda livery ?

Thanks !

I thaught rumours were that OS would dispose of Lauda's 777s after the merger/take-over. Is this still planned or will the 777s stay?

From what I've been hearing from my Star Alliance friends, the 777 will be staying. That's why Austrian Airlines whats to do them up in full OS c/s.
Hey, they just bought another 737-800 a few months ago.

Cheers!

P.S. Best wishes to all of my friends in London and the UK.

I flew Lauda two week ago to Australia. The C-class cabin front panel allready was painted in the lightblue Austrian color in two different 777.

The B772 will stay as they are the prefect Plane for the OZ Routes.
However, i heard they will be replaced by A345/A346 in the next couple of
years.

I hope I get to see either the 777s or 767s in Florida before they get painted in those sh*tty new Austrian colors.

Why did they stop MIA, FLL and MCO? Lauda used to serve all 3 airports.

Will Lauda's 738's also see OS new colours?

too less income, too less PAX - altough I think that a 3 x weekly VIE-MIA B763 would be a good choice nowadays.

No !

I don´t see VIE-MIA happen in the next time, as MIA is no Star Alliance hub. OS only concentrates on Star Alliance cities in North America.

For a charter flight (as it was in the past - a scheduled charter flight mainly for Austrian tourists) there are too less pax AND OS needs the 763s for their flights to India and the far east.

That´s right. No new US Routes planed so far.

If you referring to the VIE-MUC-MIA Flights, those were normal Schedule Flights. Today these Flights would work much better as OS would have, beside the Touristic Traffic from Austria, the Transfer PAX and can feeder that Flights, a Matter we didn´t have at NG that much.

Ah OK, I forgot they were flying via MUC.

But still, in the Star Alliance era I don´t see MIA being as attractive as ORD (UA ORD-VIE?) or other airports, don´t you think?

Why not ? A bunch of south american Destinations can be reached via MIA and that's even important as VIE has not one single Flight to South America.
However OS is not interested in opening new routes to the US as they are
focused on Asia and eastern europe.

Thanks for the news... I only hope that Lauda/OS can update the C and Y cabin a bit... on its Boeing 777s. The C cabin is getting very tired looking...

I agree that A340 may be a bit too small for the Australian markets..
