Quoting Pzurita1 (Thread starter): Destinations with most frequencies from MTY (weekly flights) Jul 2005:
Forgot MTY-ORD (covered by MX and 6A) with 14x (7x per airline)
On seasons MX added a second flight to ORD.
Also ATL with Delta, about 14-21x (not sure about it)
Quoting Anthsaun (Reply 2): What about all the none stop routes from MTY?
What are they? What airlines?
None stop, also ORD, and VER (VER is covered by Click MX 7x), all of them non stop, and soon AM´s MTY-MAD.
Quoting SFOMEX (Reply 1): So MTY-MEX route has 234 weekly flights? Wow, that's a lot. Aviacsa is really strong there, I wonder how big is its slice of the pie.
MTY-MEX is covered by AM, MX, ZE, JR, 6A and GMT (Grupo Monterrey -Magnicharters)
GDL is covered by AM, 5D and 6A
Speaking of aviacsa at 8am and 6pm they call it "La hora de Aviacsa" or (Aviacsa´s Hour), airport full of 6A tails, lot´s of trouble when you have a delayed flight, no gates.....
Most of the passengers 6A handle in MTY are in transit from other flights, example MTY-MLM has about 10 local passengers but 90 passengers from the ORD and LAX flights.
Cheers

Quoting N405MX (Reply 5): And there are plans in the long therm for MX to fly MTY-GUA or CCS
MTY-CCS? Really? is there a market to justify a nonstop flight? I close relative of mine flies twice a month between CCS and MTY with CO via IAH. Thanks to those flights he's a OnePass Silver Elite FF.

No. Did not forget this route nor many others. It was only a ranking of the 10 main routes. There are several not included such as MTY-ORD, MTY-CUL,MTY-VSA, MTY-DGO, MTY-MIA, etc, etc
Quoting N405MX (Reply 3): Also ATL with Delta, about 14-21x
It is only 14x with CRJ.

I do not know numbers for this route. You should consider FEMSA, CEMEX, IMSA, HYLSA (Techint, HYLSA's new owner), Quimmco and many other Monterrey firms have operations in Venezuela. I also have a couple of friends who travel to CCS at least once a month. There might be a market. May be MX could do a 2x with a 319.
My bet would be CM to PTY or TA to SJO. Routes who can rely also on connecting pax.
BTW, Magnicharters just started 2x flights to Varadero from MTY.

Yep, 13-20 passengers per flight

Right, also a lot of students and "dancers" (you know wich one´s Pzu...).
The flight will be a good idea in the high seasons, just for example, MX375 MEX-CCS get´s a lot of connections from MTY (about 75-90, depends on the day) so if you count the ones that go via IAH, you can get a full flight on an A318 or even an A319 .

That's so sad... Really sad.
Some might say that new routes take time to develop. However, Magnicharters is filling us with commercials everywhere about this new flight, so you cannot argue that people is not aware of this new destination, and timing couldn't be better: summer vacations.
Despite all this, only 13-20 pax per flight!!!!! I do not want to see those planes during September or October... or when Magnicharters decides not to invest in marketing... Don't you agree?
Quoting N405MX (Reply 8): Right, also a lot of students and "dancers"
Then, it might be feasible to see Malev, Aerolíneas Argentinas or LOT starting 2x....

405MX, excuse for being so naive but when you talk about dancers, what exactly are you talking about?
If MX ever starts this MTY-CCS route, CO will lose many pax. Last week I was searching for airfares to MTY from CCS, as I plan to visit my relative sometime during September and CO's and DL's fares were way lower than MX's. I'm thinking about flying with DL via ATL just to get a couple of extra miles (I'm a DL Skymiles member), the cost is the same as CO's. AA via DFW is also cheaper than MX via MEX. I guess that the people that take the MX flight are the ones that do not have US visa.

Showgirls.
Monterrey's clubs are full of Argentinian, Hungarian, Venezuelan and Russian girls.
I think N405MX was just joking about this "market", and so was I. However, as posted, there a strong business and academic links. Who knows, may be MX sending a 319 or 318 2x or 3x

Yep, lots of TV adds (i´m almost dreaming them....) and Mauro Morales got very famous, i see him almost daily at SENEAM.

Correct there, no offend for them.

Some of them have VISA, but about the fares, some get really good fares, you can search on http://www.mexicana.com you can get really low fares, also on the mex-e-savers section are really good offers, now because it´s high season the fares got high, also the fuel got increased, now about $35 USD per segment only for fuel
Hope to get those flights, it will be good for a lot of people.
Saludos

Quoting MTYFREAK (Reply 17): When is Republicair from Jorge Vergara starting Op's?
Is it true that MTY is going to be their base of Op's?
Not sure about that, but have seen XA-AEX really often here in MTY parked at GTM (Grupo Monterrey - Magnicharters) maintenance base, almost for 6-8 hours a day, sometimes 2-3 days per week, also saturday a Nova Air was also parked there.

Quoting MTYFREAK (Reply 17): I've seen "La hora de Aviacsa" or (Aviacsa´s Hour) a few times and it's quiet an amazing sight, great to see Aviacsa doing well.
As a matter of fact there are two "horas de Aviacsa"; in the morning and afternoon (the times it serve as a hub, bringing in and out passengers from IAH, MIA, CUN, MEX, TAM, CUL, TIJ, LAX, etc). And yeah, it is quiet amazing (8 to 9 tails).
Now that some has mentioned RepublicAir, today I heard on the frequency "A Volar", another start up which is already operating out of TIJ with a couple of flights on an all-white 735. It is said it has the support of old tiger Alberto Abed. Cool it materialized.

Yep, you´ll only see 6A Tails (sometimes even 10) and the one of Fedex in the Cargo Apron btw, the new cargo apron it´s so small that cargo operators still have to use the remote positions, just an example, the two planes that are parked there are the UPS 757 and FedEx 727, and there´s no room for any other plane, Aerounion and Express.Net still have to use the remotes, and they use 2 positions.

I've said it once and I'll say it twice and thrice! MTY/GDL/TIJ/CUN/HMO need an additional runway and complete new terminals!
What was the whole point for privatizing mexican airports?
I think it's time to go like US airlines-airports... time for our airlines to built, operate and own their terminals..... or at least start thinking on this crazy idea.... government/private groups have proven they can't satisfy demand and clearly in the last years demand has surpassed by far our airports.

At least we got a facelift for the terminal (we really hate it when raining, even these days)

This was time ago, MX owned the airports and the goverment took them, the rest you know the history.....

Nope, but as far as the airlines keep paying them and not claiming what they pay, this thing will be going and going and going
