With the limited parking at BWI it's surprising they let them park for an extended period of time. Last time it was at BWI it sat for a couple of weeks.
By the way, this is the 747SP that China Airlines almost lost over the Pacific. Still carries the same registration too.

Well, there may be a reason for allowing the extended parking...
Word is the FAA wants to take a close look at this plane over maintenance issues and may ground the plane either for maintenance or other issues outside the realm of maintenance.
That's just a rumor, but a rumor that is pretty widespread.
There was also a $9 million lawsuit filed in LA last month involving this aircraft. Details are at http://www.747sp.com

Yeh, it's latest trip sure should raise some eyebrows with folks in the US...
Last month it flew from Pease (in New Hampshire) to Damascus, then to Libya, then to Mumbai for a week, then back to Syria, then I think it went to Iran, then back to Libya, then to Bangor. From what I gather, the flights were so GPI's leader could speak with government leaders in those countries.
Last night he had dinner with AR governor Mike Huckabee. Dude gets around.
