Yesterday 7/12 I flew MKE-ATL. When we were pulling into our gate I saw an Air France A340 heading to the active. A second later I saw a 777-200ER pass by heading to the gate. I know the 777 is the scheduled aircraft, but what was the A340 doing there?

p.s.
I also saw a World MD-11 with what I thought were Air Canada Cargo stickers on it today. Any help on that one? It was pretty far away.

Nice Trip Report!!! Great Pics, thanks for posting!!!! B747Forever

Air France has two flights into ATL on their own metal- one is a 777 and the other is a A340.

There is a World Airways MD-11 painted in their commemorative colors, and they can look like Air Canada colors from a distance. I saw it the other day.

World currently has a contract to do cargo flights for AC.

While AF does indeed have both an A343 and a 772ER scheduled into ATL, they are normally not on the ground at the same time, as the A343 departs ATL at 4:10, and the 772 doesn't arrive before 7:20. Looks like the A343 had a serious delay of some 3 hours.
