Yesterday I saw a united 744 in denver. I thought united stopped bringing their 747s to denver.

We really need to put a FAQ for this question. It seems like it pops up every month or so.

UA will often drop the rates on it's trunk lines (DEN-SFO, DEN-ORD) and put a 747 on the routes during summer.

I believe the equipment was upgraded. I flew it 2 weeks ago or so and when I originally booked my trip I was scheduled on a 757.

Two rules in aviation, don't hit anything and don't run out of gas, cause if you run out of gas yer gonna hit something.

I think they often fly them for repositioning flights...

UA puts the 744's on the SFO-DEN-SFO route to satisfy A.netters who love domestic wide-body flights. Big grin
