Very good move...summer charter flights to Alaska...massive tour groups. Alaska should be more accessible from Japan by way of doing more of charters for Japanese tour groups during peak summer seasons. Going to SEA/SFO/LAX and going back up to Alaska is big pain and a turnoff for a lot of passengers...This market is something Omni and World should look into but operate from Haneda airport where they may allow charter slots during late evening and early morning hours...if they haven't done so already.

I find this kinda odd. At least in Fairbanks, there aren't many Japanese tourists in summer. They usually come in droves in the winter. Rumor has it among the Alaska tourist industry that Japanese tourists come here in winter to make a baby under the northern lights. But I digress. I know that JAL brought in a couple charter flights last winter to FAI and I hope they bring in more next winter.
