Take a close look at the woman sitting behind the FO. Who do you think she is, and what is she doing on the flight deck?

i can only think it is Brighid; or else she is inexplicable.

Alternativley the flight was oversold, and she was put "up front" to make maxiumum revenue. Well it is Aer Lingus we dont need say anymore...!

Mabye she's a deadheader. Or the Captain's mum! Although the idea of her being a competition winner seems a bit strange. After 9/11 I've never been allowed into the flight deck. Wouldn't the airline be frightened that she was Al Qaeda or the like? Just wondering  worried

First Class passengers are my favourites. They can't get any further forward without an ATPL.

A lot of airlines let F/As jumpseat. That's probably what is going on in this picture. If not an F/A, than a pilot or FO.

Gentlemen - and Ladies!!

Every beginning of the school year, I ask a logic question to my classes: "a ten year old boy is wheeled into the operating room after a tragic accident that has claimed the life of his biological father. The surgeon, however, takes one look at the boy and says, 'I can't work on this child - this is my son!!' How is this possible?"

Rarely, if ever, does any of my sutdents get the correct answer. You would not believe the outrageous jumps in illogic so many people are prepared to take while overlooking the blatantly obvious - the surgeon is a woman. Big grin

Therefore, in keeping with that spirit, I pose this question - who is to say that the woman in the picture is not a pilot herself? Surely all the men here have heard of women in the cockpit before...

I may be wrong, but in the interest of fairness, I'm going to guess that she is giving either the pilot or the co-pilot a line check.  box
