just heard on 680 News here in Toronto, that a Skyservice plane was damaged at CUN while passengers were trying to leave before the Hurricane Emily hits Cancun and region...

Anyone have any info?

It is starting to sound like if they didn't have bad luck they would have no luck at all.

What equipment was it....hopefully not their remaining 767

great, should be a fun week at work! Man, when it rains it pours, and it's gonna pour down in Cancun for all those involved, sheesh. Sad thing is, something like this is outside the control of the airline, but it's the airline (and naturally its customers) that end up suffering the consequences. Hopefully this is minor and will be taken care of quickly.

My sister is in CUN and was supposed to fly home (YUL) today on Air Transat. They cancelled the flight and is now bunkered up in her hotel. That should be an experience...

Definitely -- as you and I talked in person Nuno, it definitely is seen by the general public that this is "skyservice's fault" when in fact, it's not. I'm sure they'll fix it quick.

Just out of curiousity, what happens in that case? Does the package company pick up the tab for you having to stay?

I hope your sister is okay --> We were in Cancun (Playa Del Carmen) a few years ago when a tropical storm came through, and I'll tell you, it was pretty scary, so I can't imagine a hurricane.

I'm under the impression it was FAN too, not that it matters really. News reports indicate it was the wing that was hit, and that can't be good  Sad

Apparently, Air Transat is picking up the cost of the food, but not the extra night in the hotel. I'm sure she'll be okay, just sit tight in the hotel room.

Cheers,

Brandon

I can't say for certain, but I think I saw FAN at YYZ yesterday (17/07) if I did see it, then it was not it, but like I said I can't be sure...

but like Nuno said - doesn't really matter - it's rather unfortunate for Skyservice though
