Quoting FlagshipAZ (Reply 2): It was sometime in late 1993, I believe. N1964 has the honors of the last AA 721 revenue flight. I don't know where the final destination was, but the origin had to be DFW. Regards.
That's interesting. I would have thought it would make sense to have it terminate at DFW where plenty of mechanics would be available to make it ready to go to the desert, or wherever it was headed. And flight crews would be available as well.

AbirdA, I honestly don't know where the last 721 flight originated from. I was simply guessing DFW, because AA HQs is there. I have an old issue of Flagship News lying around somewhere that gave a good story on that last flight. FYI for anyone interested...American operated 59 727-100s. 53 were AA's own -023s & -123s, 3 -035s, 2 -095s & 1 -1A7. Regards.
