God I love the 727's!

The 722 is more my favorite...its body fits its big jets in the back a little better  Wink

Best of all I get to ride on one in 20 days!

It was sometime in late 1993, I believe. N1964 has the honors of the last AA 721 revenue flight. I don't know where the final destination was, but the origin had to be DFW. Regards.

That's interesting. I would have thought it would make sense to have it terminate at DFW where plenty of mechanics would be available to make it ready to go to the desert, or wherever it was headed. And flight crews would be available as well.

Do you mean 2003? I flew an AA 727 SJO-MIA about 10 years after 1993.

Can it be that your flight was on a 727-200? The topic poster asked about the -100 series.

AbirdA, I honestly don't know where the last 721 flight originated from. I was simply guessing DFW, because AA HQs is there. I have an old issue of Flagship News lying around somewhere that gave a good story on that last flight. FYI for anyone interested...American operated 59 727-100s. 53 were AA's own -023s & -123s, 3 -035s, 2 -095s & 1 -1A7. Regards.

I certainly have no reason to doubt you. Just providing an alternate conjecture, thinking in terms of operational ease.

That makes sense. I saw N1964 at BWI on Thankgiving Day, 1993, and 2 days later, again at BWI. That day, I KNEW this would be the last one I'd ever see.

Listen Betty, don't start up with your 'White Zone' s*** again.

The last AA 727-23 flight was MTY-DFW in 1994, and i do think it was indeed N1964. Im just not certain of the exact date of the last flight, i think it was spring time.
