And just when you thought everyone has tuned on FLL and gone back to favoring MIA haha...I don't think a day goes by when FLL doesn't make the news for something.

Miami ranked 17th.

The only airports that beat out FLL were, CVG, PIT, SIN, PDX.

The high ranking even surprised Jim Reynolds, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood's spokesman, who was unaware of the honor until Monday.

Let's see what they write about FLL in tomorrow's paper.

I would add that there is no way in hell the survey was taken the day the cruise ships arrived. Forty minutes in the TSA line is normal and sometime stretches to 60.
Been there-done that...more than once.

Congrats to FLL. I am surprised, though.

Though, customer satisfaction is more than just delays and long secuirty lines during cruise "rush hours". It has a lot to do with how satisfied customers are with the employees at the airport, the cleanliness of facilities, and the friendliness of staff.

Also just to note, it says that MIA ranked 17th in a "seperate survey", so I am assuming that they ranked large and medium-sized airports in two different surveys.

Miami ranked 17th

There were two different rankings, FLL was 5th in the medium airports rank and MIA was 17th in the large airports rank.

YOu got that right - It was a madhouse when I got back from a cruise last month, and there were only two ships in port then. But from what I read, the city of Fort Lauderdale wants to make the cruise ships go away.

Apparently, cruisers don't spend a lot of money in town, although a very large number of cruisers tend to fly to FLL the day before the cruise...and spend money on a hotel room...and spend money on meals...and spend money picking up a few things before the cruise...and spend money on taxis to the port....and spend money in airport fees. Fort Lauderdale should be careful what they wish for...send the cruise ships somewhere else, and FLL will suddenly be overbuilt.
