I'm flying on AA out of BOS to DFW/TUS, on the 6am flight on fri. I havn't been inside the secured area of the AA side of B in years. What concessions will be avalible at that hour of the morning? Am I better off getting the snack box AA offers than getting food at the airport?

There are some decent options, there is a Burger kling inside there, which should be serving breakfast, also there is a dunkin donuts both inside security and outside. Also, there are a few food carts inside as well. And also, there is a grab-n-go cafe inside as well. So there are some options for you.

I personally am not a fan of the snack box that AA offers, If I were you, Id grab a bagel or a doughnut and some coffee from Dunkin and hop on the plane.

Boy, when Burger King and Dunkin Donuts are considered decent offerings....!

(Mind you, I like 'em as much as the next guy!)

FYI, they have moved the security checkpoint. Instead of the checkpoint being to the immediate right of the AA counters, it has moved down the hall, to the area where the Pan Am Ticket Counters used to be.

thanks, wish i was going out on the US side though, they have more options there. It always seems the better concessions are on the US side of B, the C terminal UAL and pre-security (the old DL side was awful), and the E terminal. D is ok, but one can hardly consider it a terminal, it only has 2 gates.

I would have to agree about the us side of B. My sister just flew DL out of A and she said it was wicked nice, there was quite a good amount of selections.

Back when I worked at BOS in 1999 I don't remember anything being open until 0700.

BOS really doesnt have the best food offerings. I fly out of BOS 1-4 times a month and it never gets better.

You have
Killians Bar/pub that offers appetizers and beer

Au bon pain quick cart with sub sands(which are pretty good, thats what I usually get), salads, muffins, various breakfast breads, coffee, fruit etc.

Burger King (yuck)

Pizza Hut Express (gag)

Dunkin Donuts

It is pretty late, but that covers the majors.

The snack box wont keep you full. The turkey wraps do a good job, but they are not an option from BOS to DFW.

Atleast you made a smart move taking a 757 instead of an MD-80. MUCH better. If you aren't an AAdvantage executive member, I would suggest heading to the airport early and asking an agent at the ticketing couter for 9A C or E, those are still open right now so you have a good shot. Nothing beats bulkhead or 10A/F window on an AA 757. If the ticketing agent says no, try again with the gate agent. It is often that someone will get upgraded to first leaving 9A/C/D/F open.

You will prolly be leaving out of gate 28 or so which is nice cause it is right in front of security (for the lazy).

Enjoy your flight!

Might have to explain just how good something is when it is "wicked"... That is a very geographically specific adjective! Big grin

It is a nice terminal, my only beef is that most of the eateries are past security, much like terminal E. Terminal C is really the only terminal that has anything before security, but they have a great food court, with a legal seafood, Sam Adams brewhouse, some italian place I can't think of off hand, Dunkin Donuts(this is an absolute must in BOS), etc. Terminal B has very little before security on either side, and the selection near AA is not great at all. Of course HMS marriot runs the concessions, and I don't like them one bit.
