I have travelled on many carriers from many countries, but can anyone tell me why Americans can take 2 cases of luggage when in Europe it is on ly 1?

graet question, the Americam carriers seem to afford this luxury only to those who travel to and from the us, I guess it must be some incentive to keep them from flying those great airlines like BA and CX,any one else have an idea why this situation occurs.daddy1.

can I have an upgrade thanks..

It has nothing to do with discrimination. Give me a break!

It has everything to do with the weight and balance of the aircraft. Less bags on flights = greater aircraft range and lower fuel costs. Greater range and lower fuel costs yield cheaper fares.

Don't forget that fewer bags mean that more room can be given to their cargo customers.

You can take 2 pieces of baggage with you on every flight to the US, it doesn't matter if it is a US airline or not.

Unfortunately, I have no clue why!
