graet question, the Americam carriers seem to afford this luxury only to those who travel to and from the us, I guess it must be some incentive to keep them from flying those great airlines like BA and CX,any one else have an idea why this situation occurs.daddy1.

It has nothing to do with discrimination. Give me a break!
It has everything to do with the weight and balance of the aircraft. Less bags on flights = greater aircraft range and lower fuel costs. Greater range and lower fuel costs yield cheaper fares.

You can take 2 pieces of baggage with you on every flight to the US, it doesn't matter if it is a US airline or not.
