What was a Air New Zealand Dash 8 doing in RKV yesterday?

I was in the city before my flight back to London yesterday, can anyone explain why she was there?

Was it the new Dash DHC-8-3 on deleivery via Iceland?

Most probably delivery or MX flight. Its longest overwater leg will probably be OZ to NZ. Expect it to go through Europe, Middle East, India, SE Asia, etc.

My happy place is FL470 - what's yours?

Did you read the caption?

"First brand new Dash 8 for Air New Zealand Link, which ordered 17 in total! Seen during a fuelstop at Innsbruck on its delivery flight to New Zealand, sorry for the open door, the crew just boarded and I wasn't able to wait longer... If anybody has info regarding c/n or exact aircraft type, please email me."

It is on a delivery flight "Eastbound".

How do you think it crossed the Atlantic?

Well if we knew the reg on the Dash in RKV it would be helpful, but since there can't be that many ANZ Dash 8s around the north Atlantic it is probably a safe assumption that it is the same one in INN.

And doesn't she look fine there indeed!

I really hope Air NZ keep their current livery for a long time, it's a winner!
Especially with those lush green mountains in the background.

Long live Air NZ!

B742,

Many aircrafts make a stopover at RKV during delivery flights. Amongst them are the Dash-8's, which can be seen there once in a while.

Some examples here:

Probably that plane left Goose Bay or else in Canada. Stop at Narsarsuaq, Greenland then Iceland.
