This here A380...has it landed anywhere other than Toulouse yet? I have been busy for a change and lost track of it all.

Very soon Hamburg.
It was rumored when it came to the Paris Air Show , that before going back to TLS , it will made a stop at CDG , but it didn't , as after the Show it went back to TLS directly.

Rumours were that it was to appear at BAe Hawarden today for a special event for the workers (family day or something!), though judging by the lack of noise on the Yahoo groups for Manchester and the North, this would appear to have been false!

I'm going to be at Hamburg on 2nd, FRA on 27th. Sounds like I got my timing backward...  Sad

From what I read here
http://www.flug-linien.de/rmas/viewt...ostdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= (in German only)
it's a presentation. And this could be a small mock-up, a videoshow or the airplane itself.

But as I stated there, it's a bit too early for line presentation at FRA. AF/CDG might be the first.

Georg.

Iain Gray, managing director and general manager of Airbus UK Ltd, has made a formal request to Airbus Central Entity in Toulouse for the A380 to visit the UK sites (Broughton and Filton). Filton should be no problem, but the airfield at Broughton (Hawarden airport) is another matter due to the short runway. So, at broughton, the appearance of an A380 will likely consist of a series of fly-pasts (the A340-600 did a series of low, slow fly-pasts in 2004 at a Friends & Family day).

As far as I am aware, there was no Friends & Family day at Broughton today (July 24th). There was one last year, and the usual pattern is that these events occur every 2 years.

When the A380 is scheduled to visit, the news will get out one way or another. wink
