Would I Be Screwed?

Just wanted feedback on the following sistuation that god forbid, would never happen. Thanks to a brutal manager and an uncontrollable (with rude and mean behavior) co worker who proably has racial issues, I am fearing for my job again, meaning that I see a pattern developing at my station that could get real bad, especially if I can't leave or stay around for the next 2 months or so. If I ever got fired by this carrier, am I correct in assuming that I would be screwed in getting another airline job. I have over 11 years with the company and it seems to me that other airline recruiters would be really supicious of someone who would just leave an airline with that much seniority. I have seniority in multiple positions and bumping would be pretty easy which is what one could guess I could have done if I got laid off. When someone calls for references, is the other employer bound against saying why someone left? I heard they can still say if someone is eligible for rehire or not, I really, really hope that I will never have to find out, but I am really scared....thanks

Sorry to hear about your troubles. If I were you I'd document as much as you can about said incidents and get in touch with your company's Human Resources Dept. I work for AA and that is the quickest way to get results, especially with the racial issues. I take it you aren't in a union being in Salt Lake but if you are that is another avenue to consider.

I am actually part of a union, even though that is not quite the good thing (at times) that people may think. The local steward went mad on me yesterday for reacting to the guy (the uncontrollable jerk) putting "watermelon" as part of the things that he was going to bring to the pinic. Granted maybe he actually likes watermelon and had no intentions, but even if there were no negative intentions, it was still a dumb thing to do, coming off the heels of everything else he has done. Honestly, I don't think that that is just a coincidence that he put that down, I will see if he actually brings it to the pinic, if not, that just proves my point.
