Air France flies to Beirut, Lebanon on a daily basis using Boeing B777-200ERs.

Since April, they have upgraded the flight to their new B777-300ERs I think about 4 times due to higher loads on those days.

Starting November 5, the Saturday flight will be permanently upgraded to a B777-300ER as this is the busiest traveling day of the week on this route.

In addition to Air France's daily 777 flight to Beirut, they code-share on MEA's daily A321-200 and daily A330-200 flights.

Together, MEA and Air France offer 3 flights a day between Paris and Beirut. The only competition they face on the route is Star Airlines' twice weekly (thrice weekly in the summer) A320-200 flights.

MEA is planning to acquire a 4th A330-200, possibly next year, in order to upgrade its daily A321-200 flight to an A330-200.

Air France's B777-300ER destinations are Singapore, Montreal, Hong Kong, Beijing, Tokyo, New York, and Luanda.

Here is a photo of one of the 773-ERs taking off from BEY:

Upgrading the A321 to a daily A330 has been in the plans for MEA for some time and I hope they'll be able to do it next year.

Also, MenaJet is doing charter flights to Paris as well during the summer but tickets could be booked only through tour operators. These are non-stop flights but may have a single technical stop on either way of the route.

This summer a few of the red-eye flights have been upgraded to A330, I am taking this flight this coming sunday onboard the A330.

Good news...at least we're getting something a little more interesting at BEY and that is incentive to fly on AF.

True nirvana would be a BA 763 instead of the damn buses!

Nice shot Vatche!

If BA itself was flying to BEY rather than BMED, I think the 757 would've been more likely the equipment, the 767 also is an option.
I remember coming across a picture of a BA767 in BEY some 10 years ago, but that myaviation search is wicked!

This was in the air a few months ago already...

http://www.airliners.net/discussions...eneral_aviation/read.main/2183020/

The program for next winter has changed recently.
Initially, AF566/565 was scheduled with a B772ER on 1-345-- and with an A343 on -2---67, the A343 offering the new "NEV" version 30J/261Y to provide extra capacity in Y but this had the inconvenient to offer no First Class on those flights, and First class is very popular on that route...

Apparently, its has changed again with a B772ER DAILY except on Saturday (B77W).
I think it's more a question of commonality : with a B772ER Crew in BEY everyday, it will be much easier for AF to swap from a B772ER to a B773ER at the last moment according to the booking or/and a/c availability.

Thanks FlySSC.

Do you know if the Saturday B773ER is planned to be a permanent upgrade, or could it go back down to being just daily B772ER during the start of the spring schedule?

What is the seating configuration on the B772ER now and the B773ER?

Regards

The seat Config; on the B772ER is still the same (12P/56J/202Y) as none of them has been reconfigured yet in the "NEV" version.

The B773ER are all in the "NEV" config; with 8P/67J/235Y

I Checked the AF reservation system yesterday and for the moment, AF566/565 is a B773ER on all Saturdays starting Nov.5th but you know, CDG-BEY is a short flight and with the crew commonality, it is very easy for AF to change a/c at the last minute, even D-1 !

Thanks FlySSC. When will the B772ERs be converted to the NEV configuration?

The priority is given to the A332/A343/B744, as they are going from a 3 class config. to a 2 class config.

15 A343 out of 21 are already in the NEV config.
5 A332 out of 16 are in NEV versions and 9 B744 out if 16.

Moreover, the B772ER will be reconfigured with even newer seats, the one that will be used for the A380...and those seats are not ready yet. So we have to be a little more patient....
