Copenhagen intl. has won the price for being the best airport in the world.
It is the design of the airport, the mood of the airport, the service, the shopping, the comfort and abillity to walk freely, that has made CPH the best airport in the world.

Which survey was this, the IATA one? Where can the results be seen?
This goes to show that Nordic airports have something to offer to the flying public and airlines in general. They're usually well designed which is good news to pax, and due to their (relatively) uncongested airspaces and good slot availability, they make great hubs while the more central parts of the continent struggle with almost unbearably huge traffic loads combined with ever-reducing possibilities to expand facilities.

I think it is IATA, i heard from a Danish newsprogram, that interviewed the managing director of CPH, where he told that it would it would affect travellers to choose CPH for transfer.
I think it is well deserved and it is a new times for CPH, the beginning of a big future, I think.

I checked Copenhagen airport's website, http://www.cph.dk, and the results were from IATA's annual market survey in which 60 000 passengers took part.
CPH has been rated best in Europe several times, but has previously lost to Singapore's Changi.
According to the IATA market survey, the best airports in the world are:
Copenhagen Kastrup (CPH)
Singapore Changi (SIN)
Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS)
Hong Kong Chek Lap Kok (HKG)
Oslo Gardermoen (OSL)
I'm not too sure about the "ranking order" after CPH and SIN, and this is just information from the top of my mind, and please correct me if I'm wrong.
I've been to all of these airports (except HKG) and I can endorse IATA's passengers' choice.

"The New Iata Global Airport Monitor 2000 Is Out Now
Copenhagen, Singapore Changi, Helsinki Vantaa and Vancouver head the list of passengers' favourite airports, according to IATA's latest Global Airport Monitor.
The report measures passenger satisfaction through 60,000 interviews at 57 major airports world-wide, for a wide range of customer service attributes. Particular features of this year's report are increased competition for the top places in the survey. The gap between the 'best in class' airports and other top performers is closing and the top end of the scale is becoming notably more clustered. This reflects airports' investment in either upgrading facilities or focusing on customers.
Significant improvement in approval ratings were observed for Nagoya, Birmingham, Brussels and New York's JFK airport, all ranking within the top 10 in terms of most improved airports over 1998.
After being ranked second to Helsinki Vantaa by business travellers last year, Singapore Changi regains the top position for Overall business passenger satisfaction for 1999. Ratings for business and leisure passengers continue to show a differential (higher score given by leisure passengers) in the latest report.
The new Asia-Pacific airports in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong received a high level of approval for service performance, ranking highly for Overall passenger satisfaction, Comfortable waiting area/lounges and Speed of baggage delivery.
Copenhagen, Zürich Kloten, Hong Kong, Amsterdam Schiphol and Oslo were perceived to be the top performers overall for Ground transportation to/from the airport, reflecting passenger appreciation for well functioning interconnected transport systems.
For the first time, the report is also available as an interactive analysis tool. Developed by IATA's Aviation Information & Research department, this allows users to run tailored analyses of service performance for any airport covered in the report, in order to understand their competitive position within the industry."
