I just flew Continental for a second time today, and I noticed a big difference in their standards. Here is what I noticed:
-In SAT, they offered free soft drinks and snacks at the GATE
-The flight to IAH was 35 minutes, yet they offered a FULL beverage service to all the pax on the nearly full 737-800 (The F/A's busted their butts!)
On NWA, they only offer oj or water on a flight that is 45 minutes
-IFE, it was avialable to the smart ones who brought headsets
-The CEO of the airline actually welcomed us on the taped safety demo
-Pillows are still available
and there was mention of meals still served on longer flights.

yep.. CO is my favorite in regards to service and amenities. I just wish they change their image with a new livery and new uniform as they look very 90's. Other than that, i love flying CO.
I flew IAH-HNL on the 764 in coach and was excellent. PTV and meal (Special meal actually). Have done MIA-EWR too and they show a movie (no PTV) with a snack (which means a cold sandwich, not pretzels).
Next year i would like to fly IAH-NRT on the 777 and EWR-BRS or other secondary airport on the 757.

Got to love CO, too bad their fares are usually much higher to the places I fly (FL to the midwest).
What do United and US and American look like IYO??
yep.. that world logo in the tail has been overused by many companies. NW replaced their 90's look and it is now much better with the new livery.
UA = fresh look, but boring.. still, an improvement.
US = dark but elegant. they could do better with lighter colors
AA = classic and conservative. Wouldn't mind seeing something new
..but the bottom line is surviving in this economy..right? who cares about the look.

I've looked into that flight before and compared the 764 to the 772 and would want the 764 as in coach they actually afford you 1" extra pitch in the seats vs. that of the 772. Got to be a long flight!

I have not flown CO but from what i've heard , their on the mend ( as it were), Glad you enjoyed CO , Trust me , always fly a full service airline IF you can
CO offers full beverage service on all their flights, even these short SAT and AUS runs. Heaven forbid we all know everyone croaks without a drink for 35 minutes. (and IFE, I’m even going to touch that one)

I have always been very loyal to CO but have had to fly other airlines just due to scheduling most of the time. Mostly it has been AA and I have to say CO is by far my favorite US airline. On most CO Express flights out IAH there is a table set up with cokes, crackers, and sometimes even popcorn. In all my years of flying CO, I have never had a problem with them and hope they continue their sucess. I just wish they would bring back the old meatball and Golden Jet Service !

Really CO inflight service is 2nd to none IMHO... It's good in Coach, even better in 1st and unlike any other carrier I've experienced (AA, UA, DL, NW, WN and their various "expresses").
The FAs are plesant and curteous, 4 beverage services in Y on a LAX-CLE (4:30 hour flight), food...
Their gate agents are also fairly friendly... The only area where they could really improve are the CSRs at the ticket counters, and even they have been better lately
Long live CO!

I made a switch a couple of years ago. After a life-long (hey, I may only be 23, but my dad worked for AAmerican) preference for AA, I got fed up after a couple o bad experiences, and started playing the field. Now, I am a OnePass member, and was able to use my miles to fly to Alaska for the entire summer- something AA claimed they had no availability for, in any of the past three years! I didn't word that very well, but I think you know what I mean.
I like Continental's all-Boeing, all-new fleet. Their oldest plane is a 733- not bad, I say. Competitors are flying 73S, DC9, and S80 types. All good planes, no doubt, but I really liked the 753 I flew on to Alaska.
In short, I like Continental a lot. Heck, I even got a free meal. Fancy that!
