A bit of excitement when I got a flat tire yesterday the 28th if July: my car ended up inbetween the flight paths of 18R & 18L of MCO off Lee Vista Rd. While changing my tire I looked up to see a B762 flying over and low and behold it said very clearly "MAX" on the tail!

I guess they are doing their proving runs here in the states now too!

Quite a treat to see!

It's not you, I thought the same thing. Seeing as Excel is now part of Air Atlanta, maybe the owners have set up this new airline and decided to use the same color scheme!

They do look like Excel airways, but there is a new Chinease airline with Embraer-170's. Their fleet looks identical.

MXJ007 departed JFK and is due into STN at 12:18am local time, assuming the flight isn't given a diversion scenario. It will be in STN all day tomorrow.

Thanks again to the airliners.net community for the support over the past couple of years as we've put the airline together. A number of you have contributed in many ways and we appreciate your interest in what we're doing. New certificates don't come along often in the US and we're proud of what the team has accomplished so far, even if it has been a lot more complex than we first anticipated. There is a lot of work left to do.

Yes that's what I thought too, at least the color and even the titles on the front somehow remind u of excel. Not too innovative of a livery with the all too common blue and a pattern that looks like UPS.

Do you know where it parked? I happened to drive by tradeport drive yesturday afternoon and it wasn't there, maybe it was parked on one of the terminals? I wish I had gotten a flat and seen it Big grin

MaxJet has also applied to do domestic US routes recently. They've got some good innovative people up there putting it together so I wish them the best! They've got a website up too. www.maxjet.com

Yes indeed. I too hope we'll be around longer than EUjet.

N770WD is in STN today and will operate STN-JFK tomorrow for the second transatlantic proving run. It is scheduled to depart at 9am local, although schedules can slip due to practice scenarios. Arrival at JFK around 1pm local.

Good luck through your proving runs N770WD. I went through them with Pro Air back in early 1997 and it was both fun and nerve wracking...The drinks will never taste better the night you get your certificate!

Cheers!

I wonder if you guys will expand in the UK prett quickly, cos it'd be nice to see you in EDI or GLA.

Not a stupid question. The proving runs are the final stage in new airline certification, although proving runs are also conducted when an airline inducts a new aircraft type (e.g. when Northwest inducted the A330 or Indy the A319). We operate the proving runs as if they were scheduled flights, and the FAA observes from on-board and in the system ops center. As for the routes, the runs are meant to resemble the proposed operation.

There are a lot of great opportunities within reach.

You have that right! The process has become significantly more complicated since 1997 so it's definitely nerve wracking. The ops team has done a great job.

Those are the test runs they are undergoing to get FAA certification.

Looks like a good airline. Would I fly them? Probably not but I like their name and the livery.

MXJ009 just landed in STN this morning east coast time. Schedules shifted around due to permits and scenarios. MXJ010 is scheduled for tomorrow at 9am local time, returning to Kennedy. There is an MCO rotation scheduled for Thursday, currently scheduled to arrive MCO at 3:30pm.

28 Aleksandar : Can you tell us more about Maxjet product? I have visited the airline's website but couldn't find much about it. Also, a question to all. Can the LCC
29 Dogfighter2111 : Hey, The LCC concept can be used anywhere really. They could offer flights for $10 but you still have to pay Taxes and Surcharges on top. Thanks Mike
