I had a family member who was planning on bringing a dog back from Europe on AF and was wondering if anyone has had past experience carrying pets overseas on AF. Does AF treat pets well? Does anyone know of any airline that perhaps treats pets better on trans-Atlantic flight (CO, UA, DL)? Thanks guys!

My whippet flew on AA the route LIM-DFW-SJC and he arrived very well, well taken care of. He's now 7 years old and buggin' the hell out of the entire family, but that's another story.
On an unrelated note, his mom's ancestors came from a line of whippets in France, but I'm not sure what airline they flew across the pond.  Smile

I believe CO has a program called "pet safe". I am not aware of the details of it but I can say that CO does treat animals very well.
