I was flying through DFW yesterday and I saw a Korean 747 at the new terminal D. Was the service upgraded or was this just a scheduling thing?

Texas- it's like a whole different country!

Seems to vary by season - 744 or 777.

That is correct. Korean Air also flys a B-747-400F in here 4 times a week. So, 4 times a week we have 2 Korean B-744s here at the same time.

Didn't the KE flight used to go ICN-DFW-ATL and then stop by at DFW on the return? Also, seems like the departure to ICN was very late night... around midnight?

With the midday departure now, the connections from ICN to Southeast Asia in particular have certainly improved! Would really like to try their service from DFW, but being a mileage junkie I depend on the trans-Pacific trips to keep my status up on another carrier. But I sure enjoy seeing the KE 747 or 777 fly overhead on approach southbound.

It's interesting how DFW struggled for a while to support a JAL 747 and AA 777, and when JAL dropped their service AA put an additional 777 on 3-4 days per week. The second flight is now daily and AA is adding a daily KIX flight, KE has 3 flights to ICN, and often read in local papers of rumors of another Asian carrier or two considering service to the area.

And the amount of cargo flights to/from Asia has certainly grown: Singapore, Korean, China Airlines, China Cargo, EVA.

I just think back to the days when you could not get to anywhere in Asia without stopping on the West Coast!

Cathay Pacific Cargo starts service in Nov 3 times a week.

Not sure what the routing was but it did have a late dep at 1230 at night 3 times a week.

It would be nice to get JAL, EVA, or Cathay Pacific pax service.
