I remember some of the fiasco with DEN, I flew into Stapleton back in 1994 or 1995, can't recall exactly; but i was supposed to fly out of the new airport when i left denver...i was upset that i was not going to be one of the first people thru that new airport  Sad

Yes in the Thread Starting Video Report (the third link) there is a reported connection to the DEN Baggage Problems encountered. You might want to go back to the top of this thread and view that Video Report again. It's a pretty good investigative report WBBH-TV did.

Back around the time of 2nd or 3rd delay in opening the new DIA due to the aforementioned baggage problems, somebody landed/crashed a Cessna on the White House grounds.

This led to a joke popular at the time...

Q: What's the difference between the new Denver airport and the White House?

A: They're taking arrivals at the White House...  Wink
