BNA is my home airport and I watch developments there like a hawk.
This morning while flying out, it appears that there are four new jetways staged on the RON area off of concourse A&B. I looked and didn't see any new gates that didn't have existing jetways (implying that those jetways were there for storage).
Does anyone know what is up with these four new jetways?

I meant C sorry !
I hope so, but I havn't heard any rumors. I did hear that F9 is adding a 2nd CUN flight in Aug which would mean 3 planes here RON on Mon Wed and Sat (I think) that might facilitate a move from A but we will have to keep seaching for what might be up!

What is gonna happen to those Gates on Concourse D? What is down there? I knew American Eagle used it at one time, but when I tried to take a sneak peak, this maint guy gave me the eye like I was some terrorist! C has many empty gateways, maybe Southwest is going to take them. Plenty of room from what I could see, and very sad too! I rememeber when American had tons of 727's and F100's down here in the South, now it's all DL MD-88s, NW DC-9's, and FL 717-200's

There is nothing downstairs at the D-Concourse at all now. All of AE operations have moved up to the C- Concourse as has all of AE offices that occupied the upstairs portion of the D-Concourse. Access to the D-Concourse has been blocked off and I'm sure if you were trying to access it, the airport police will definitely have something to say about it. A big chunk of the ramp space that the D-Concourse once used for the AE ops now is blocked off and is a parking area.
It's a pity. the D-Councourse was actually pretty nice and the upstairs offices, break room, training rooms and locker rooms were actually pretty nice.

There are several gates without jetways attached...mostly in the area between American Eagle and Southwest. There has been some talk of JetBlue coming to to with their Embraer 190's... But I've also been told American still leases those gate locations.

yes, American does lease the open gates on the C concourse.
was at the airport today (again) and spoke to some BNA Airport Authority maint folks. The new jetways are going to fill-in open spots (A1, gates at the end of B) and to replace a few very old jetways. The new gates will all be common-use. Apparently they got a 'great deal' on jetways from MDT (yes, the airport), bought the lot and moved them down. Installation starts in the next few weeks.
