When I live in London I'm fortunate enough to have a great apartment with a roof top terrace that gives me a great view of aircraft lining up for final approach to LHR. My apartment is basically under the wing in this photo;
Over the past 10 years I've seen almost everything and since it's the summer the viewing is better. One thing though, as fleet upgrades have taken effect I've started to see less A300s & A310s. AA are no more, QRs seem to be replaced by A330s, IB used to send them but I see more of the A320 NBs and haven't seen an A300 for awhile. I flew an OA A306R in January to ATH this year but saw a report they only have a couple left. Yemania A310s I still see on occassion though I'm not sure what's happened to the Sudanese A300 that used to come in on a Sunday afternoon. I still see the occassional TP A310. Also, I go out my way to fly LH on LHR - FRA if an A306 is scheduled. DHL freighters I see but I can't recall who else.
So a question for LHR afficianado's, who still operates these models to LHR? I'll finally be moving back to Sydney at the end of Summer and would like to know what to look out for before I go. Please bear in mind I've lived here for 10 years and if some of my info is wrong, like Sudan A300 please correct.

LH use their A300-600s frequently to LHR. I dont think LH can ever retire the aircraft as they dont have a suitable wide-bodied aircraft to use on high-density routes like LHR-FRA. Both manufacturers have cmpletley ignored this market in recent years.
I remeber the days when Cyprus Airways, Swissair, Lufthansa, Yemenia, Austrian et al all opeated the 310 into LHR.
Do Libyan Arab still operate the leased 310 into LHR from Tripoli?

Really. I would have thought the route to Tripoli from LHR wuld require a larger capacity aircraft, perticularly now the country has improved diplomatic relations and is becoming more open to tourism and business.
They used to schedule the 310 and A300-600R to LHR a few years ago, so I am suprised they now service the route with a 320.

Air Algerie (rare)
Uzbekistan Airways (rare)
Turkish airlines (regular)
Tarom Romanian (rare)
SATA International (often)
Biman Bangladesh (regular)
Royal Jordanian (regular)
I also live under the final approach to the 27's at about 9NM
To update Arsenal@LHR's reply which is now somewhat out of date:
Aeroflot - no more as A310's returned to Airbus. Now A321's/320/319 and sometimes 763
Air Algerie - again the A310's are gone. Usually 738 but in recent weeks often A330's
Uzbekistan - usually a 763 or 752 but very occasionally an A310
Tarom - not been used to LHR regularly for years. Usually a 737/733
SATA International - doesn't use LHR at all. If they've visited they've been on subcharters for other airlines and very rare.
Yemenia - now an A330
Biman - I think that they are still scheduled twice a week
...and the A300's
Olympic - only one left now and a rare visitor. Usually an A343/734
Egyptair - pretty rare now - usually a 772/340 and sometimes a 330
Kuwait Airways - until recently at least once a week
Iran Air - been flying in their A300's more frequently recently (of course 2 are ex OA)
Regarding Afriqiyah - they use LGW. The LAA flights are usually LBT A320's
DHL fly in daily with an A300F late evening.
As you say, the A300/310 is a rare bird these days.

When did AA stop flying their A300's into LHR? Do they only fly the B777 or a mix of B777 and B767 now? I see at least one LH A300 everytime I'm there. Last time I flew an A310 was with KL coming in from AMS in December 1995 (just after the AA 757 crashed in Colombia). It was a nice flight because we parked right between 2 Concordes at T4.

I know it's not Heathrow, but Air Transat operates a mix of A310s and A330s to service Gatwick. Plenty of A310 spotting at YYZ thanks to Transat. Plenty of TG 310s here in BKK as well. Love spotting these birds...

I still remember doing the walk around on the SU A310 just over a year ago. Such fond memories of that aircraft and such a kind but limited crew
