Lufthansa's Terminal 2 in Munich will handle more than 20 million passengers this year, a record. Karl-Ulrich Garnadt, head of Hub Management Munich for LH, told ATWOnline that the carrier and its partner airlines are growing at the hub at a faster rate than had been expected; "In June we saw a passenger increase of 13%. If our growth continues this way, we will be running out of capacity [in T2] by 2008."

Wonder if this is what he actually meant - notice the way "in T2" has been bracketed, meaning that he didn't specifically say those words.
I only query it because Munich said a couple of days ago that it would run out of RUNWAY capacity in 2008, and has had to start planning capacity-enhancement procedures as well as the construction of a third runway.

The Bavarian "Kabinett" (this is not the parliament, but the assembly of ministers) has decided today to approve the airports plan to plan a third runway. Won't be easy, they will have to "move" two villages...

What I found interesting from the article was that Lufthansa is planning on increasing the number of aircraft stationed in MUC.
"It has 16 long-haul aircraft based there and wants to increase this to 45 by 2015."
I wonder where they are planning on exanding their operations to? Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Middle East, Far East, India, North America, and maybe even South America? If any insiders have any knowledge please share.
