Yesterday's cancellation of flights due to AF crash may have been one event, but added to Sunday's cancellation of flights due to pilots having used up their flying time for July AND cancellations due to the bad weather and runway maintenance in Halifax may end up costing AC any hope of a profit this quarter.

The term "Perfect Storm" refers to a compounded number of events that can lead to a disaster or tragedy and in this case costing profitability for AC.

The engine is the heart of an airplane, but the pilot is its soul.

Well for AC its just another big bump in the road that they'll have to overcome along with rocketing oil prices and a few unhappy pilots (The OAC - Original Air Canada members still fuming over Canadi>n merger).

Their customer service after the diversions doesn't help either.

AC planes from Zurich , and Tel Aviv were diverted to YOW, as well as a BA 747.

BA reserved 150 rooms in local hotel for the pax. AC did nothing! PAX were lined up at the AC counter trying to get alternative flights , and/or they had to get their own bookings for rooms.
