Boeing just posted it's weekly order status:

http://active.boeing.com/commercial/orders/index.cfm

3 UFO 747s
1 UFO 767
EgyptAir is in for 6 737s
LANs 767s now show up and out of the UFO category
COs 2 772ERs
Aeromexico and Airtran ordered a few more 737s each

over 508 confirmed net orders!

Can''t wait to see what this fall brings to Boeing!

Was a bit surprised to see the AM and FL 737 orders, as I can't remember any press releases relating to that. The other order have been talked about pretty well, so that leaves us with the 747 and 767 UFOs. The 767 is likely a follow-on order to either JAL's or ANA's last 767 order. As for the 747s, I'd suspect those are freighters once again, perhapd even 744ERFs.

Yeah it think the 747s are freighters too. No one is going to buy 744s as they're probably going to take either 773ERs or 747Adv when that one comes out.

I thought Egyptair was going for 12 737s? Or could it be that they divided the deal into two and the other 6 is still unidentified? Does it even work that way?

The 747 order is for six 747-400ERF from GAP

The UFO 767 order is a 767-200ER so not likely to be JAL or ANA

Right country, wrong operator. It's a JASDF order.

That's right;

Quoting NYC777 (Thread starter):
1 UFO 767

There were 7 UFO 767s listed prior to today, so this is not a new order as LANs 6 are Identified. 3 for ANA still remain pending though.

I'm awake now! Last week there were 27 UFO 737s listed so either AirTran or Egypt Air were previously listed as UFO and one of them has now been formally identified. Only 21 737s remain as UFO. I'd go with AirTran as the 6 that were previously ordered though not announced. I assume Egypt Air may well take their balance via a Leasing Co as they've been quite active this year.

GAP is already listed for their 6. Today, 3 new orders are listed in addition to their previously announced order. I assume they'll be 744Fs. Another thread noted KLM has begun negotiating for a 4th 744ERF so perhaps an order from ILFC?

I wish Boeing would update their site for July so we can see which model the 5 777 UFO are....

Interesting that the CO order for two 777s has been added, but the UFO for 5 777s remains......there was some speculation that the 2 CO 777 orders were part of the 5 UFOs for the 777.

What has happened to 787 orders? Earlier this year they were humming along nicely but seem to have slowed quite a bit now. It it that the early delivery positions are sold out or is the A350's latest incarnation cooling customer enthusiasm?

Those are the 5 772LRs CO ordered but is afraid to talk about until another quarter or two of profits (and completing of flight testing proving the 772LRs worth).  Smile

Hey, somebody had to start the rumor!

An abbreviation for orders on Airbus and Boeing's orders site which refer to the customer as Unidentified. Some customers do not like to disclose when they order at the time and these orders are attributed this designation along with some commercial frames which are for a Military customer and application. Until such a time as the customer is willing to disclose their purpose or people on this and other forums work out who it is  Wink

Hope that helps

It sorts out what the "U" in "UFO" represents, thanks. I guess the "FO" stands for "Firm Orders".

It is more that a large number of 787 commitments (most notably the Chinesese one) have yet to become firm orders. Plus the AC order was cancelled before it was firmed, and the Chinese order has gone from 60 to 50 planes.
