According to US DOT stats recently released, Hawaiian Airlines came in tops for best on-time percentage and lowest rate of mishandled bags. HA finished just over the industry average for passenger complaints per 100,000 enplanements (12th out of 20 at .80 per...). The data is valid for the month of June 2005.
Conversely, FL finished second to worst for on-time % and rate of complaints, but finished in the top/best third for mishandled baggage.
AS is apparently having a hell of a time in SEA as their operational performance is paltry. Only 51.4% of their flights arrive on-time while the average was 74.6%. They also finished in the bottom/worst third in mishandled bags and complaints. Perhaps someone needs to re-think the decision to farm out the ramp to the lowest bidder...

"Triple crown" was a hype name that SWA thought up when they were winning all 3 categories every year- they used to hype it incessantly until their top ratings in the 3 categories (on-time, PAX complaints and baggage handling) dropped... Now you never hear that word from them anymore and I hadn't heard it for a long time until now!!

All pride aside, it's no surprise HA has good on-time performances each month when you consider their fleet size, as well as the markets they serve. Hawaii isn't really prone to devastaing hurricanes or blizzards, you know .
But they fly a tight interisland operation, and there are storms in hawaii.
They 767s don't tend to get overworked though.
And it's not hard to get all the bags there on P2P ops like HA has. Interisland is basically all P2P, with only some connecting bags. They don't really do a great job on the connecting bag front, but since it's not such a big percentage of their traffic, it doesn't hurt as much as a big connecting hub carrier.
Also, since they have so many interisland flights, when they mishandled my luggage, it arrived on the next flight by the time I had picked up the rental car. I only lost about 10 minutes of my vacation for the whole ordeal, not too bad.
Of all the things to worry about... the Wookie has no pants.
