What do you think of Alliance Aircraft.
*There first 2 planes are the StarLiner 70 & 90.
*They aim to have them flying by 2003!
*They have letters of intent from 2 firms in Europe and the Far East for 30 planes.
*They claim that there planes will be up to 2 million & cheaper than competitors!
*They claim there planes will be more comfortable (what manufcturer does not )
*They aim to have there facory built next year!
*Do you think they are over ambitious?
*I think that one disadvantage is that they have no 30 and 50 seater planes! What do you think?

Have them flying in 2003 already means that they are earlier on the market than the ERJ-190-100/-200 but the 928JET and CRJ900 will be there before. The launch of both planes is immanent, the CRJ900 and 928JET will be most likely launched in the 4th quarter 2000 and I suppose that then the launch orders will be announced. Likely customers: Air Nostrum, Eurowings, Comair, Southern Winds just to name a few.
The have LoIs for 30 planes from at least three companies? Gee, what a lot. As far as I remember Fairchild still has 47 728JET in its books as a LoI (Eurowings 30, Proteus Air 15, Sol Air 2). And they will be cheaper than the ERJ-170/-190/728JET/928JET? Means they cost about 24-26 millions each.
When they claim to be more comfortable they have to seat 5 abreast in a tube at least 134.5 inches wide to match the BAe146/ARJ/ARJX. The ERJ will have 108, the 728JET 128 inches width. Let´s see this plane.
Conclusion? A "bit" too ambitious. Having build a factory next year and THEN start a new project? Have they already started building this factory? Have they already started development of these aircrafts? Have you heard anything who these customers are? Some questions to answer...

Still I don´t really believe it. Embraer needs about 1 bn $$$$$$ to develop the ERJ-170 and -190, thus I consider Alliance to need the same sum or even more money as they don´t have any income until the first plane is delivered. Roughly estimated they need 1.5 bn $, a lot of money for a company to start into an already overcrowded market.
To my best knowledge the 928JET as well as the 528JET are not yet launched. Only the 728JET is launched, on this launch date the preworks for the other two started as well. But no, the 928JET isn´t yet officially launched and has yet no (officially) orders. The official launch is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2000, I suppose that we will get more info during the Farnborough airshow. I expect Eurowings the launch customer but it can be others as well.
