I was browsing BA's schedules for the winter season and it seems that BA is increasing flights to Africa:

1- Tunis: will get a fifth flight weekly with 2 of the flights now spending the night in Tunis and departing earlw morning the next day.
2- Alexandria : will go back to non stop 4 times weekly.
3- Sharm El Sheikh : 3 new weekly flights.
4- Hurghada : 2 new weekly flights.
5- Lagos : 3 extra flights weekly bringing to 10x LHR-LOS.
6- Nairobi : is replacing the 767s with 777s twice weekly.
7- Addis Abeba : will be served 5 times weekly.
8- Marrakesh : will get 3 weekly flights to Manchester for the first time.
9- Abuja : will get a daily flight for the first time

Next flights : BRU-ZRH-CAI (LX)/ BRU-FCO-TLV (AZ)

That's good news!
Makosi from Big brother (British reality show) will be pleased seeing as she knows so much about BA.
That's a lot of flights and should be good to watch them expand even more in Africa.

Hi there Shamrock350!

(A bit off topic, I know)

I just spent 10 days in London... and I've become such a Big Brother (UK) fan now! I didn't like the Maltese version... and the Aussie version is my definite favourite... Please tell me who got evicted after Derek. Thanks.

Of course I will!!! Im just waiting until a surprise eviction tomorrow. I expect Craig will be out.
Any way back on topic, I take it that BA are doing great in Africa but How is competition doing, that is if there is much competition.

Glad to see Marrakech being served from Manchester. Links to Morrocco from Manchester have been very sporadic over the years with mainly just the odd charter to Agadir.

Nice to see a scheduled link, I will certainly use that service as Morrocco is one of my favourite holiday destinations and the Agadir charters have always seem to have the most awful departure time back to the UK.

BA/Comair are very keen to operate more services to neighbouring countries in Southern Africa. However with Yamssoukro Agreement still not a reality, they are faced with the problem of fighting a losing battle when it comes to getting the traffic rights they need.

Expansion within SA is more likely to come from Kulula at present.

And I remember charters to Tangiers too, when that was a popular destination for Brits.

Interesting how ADD goes to 5x per week. This appears to be due to the use of 320s instead of the 321s which are used in the summer. Once the winter schedule is over, goes back to 4x on a 321.

Should be noted that ET also opeartes 4x to LHR and 2x to LGW. LHR, prior to the addition of the new LGW flights, would get a 5th weekly flight.

Good to see traffic growing between ADD and LON.
