In a press release at the MCO website, it claims that JetBlue has committed to occupying around 8,000 sq. feet in the North Terminal Complex, including moving into the new airside. Whipping out a handy calculator, the dimensions would be at a perimeter of 356 ft.(89 * 4). No offense, but that area covers more than one gate in the new airside. So, I ask in the title, just WHAT is JB doing? Any expansion plans?

That's what I was thinking. Excluding the ticketing and baggage claim areas that would be around 3-4 gates. I just find it suspicious that they would mention this in sq. ft. Perhaps hiding from competition?

Why would you not want JetBlue in Atlanta? As a frequent traveller, I'd welcome another low-fare airline to Atlanta to give Delta a little competition. Even if you don't fly JetBlue, greedy, overpriced, Delta will match their fares on competing routes.

I love JetBlue as they install PTVs on every plane, a great revolution in the single aisle class. Big fat Delta should learn from them!
By the way, JetBlue's livery can be called livery, Delta's new livery is a bad joke.

I dont not like low cost airlines. ValuJet was a very good example of how low cost airlines are not very good. AirTran is the best low cost airline. The biggest problem I have with JetBlue is the Airbusses. I do not like Airbus aircraft because there cheap, and crammed!!!!!

Hmm odd, you thought Valujet was bad, yet you think AirTran is the best?? I sure hope you know the history of AirTran...anyhow, as far a low cost airlines go, what about Southwest? I guess you don't like them either? Its low cost/low quality that you have to wonder about. Although I dont like Airbus either, JetBlue seems to be a low cost/high quality airline...can't wait to see for myself in July...

Hartfield, You do of course realize that Valujet became AirTran for the reasons (among others) of hiding its past? So while AirTran's safety record is pretty, it hasn't been flying under that name for too long. Also, although I have never flown Southwest, I have been told it is anything but boring. Oh well, to each their own.

Many people believe, and rightfully so, that low cost = cheap service. jetBlue Airways is trying to break that mold. The FAs and pilots have to attend public relations classes for one thing. Mr. Neeleman has hired outside contractors to train his crew on how to be nice to passengers.
jetBlue cuts costs by doing everything via computers. I mean they do EVERYTHING by computers. They don't even publish an inflight magazine. They don't even make ticket jackets.
JB configures their aircraft so they aren't cramped. All their seats are leather and have a lot of legroom. This airline was configured with the business traveller in mind.
I can't wait to fly them. I hope they come to Boston or Indianapolis!

Assuming the newcomer JetBlue is planning to build it`s own infrastructure on that Airport, wouldn´t that be an investment of a sky-high ammount of dollars ? Where would that come from and when could one expect it enters service ?
