It looks like its AA Flight 1295, an MD-82 going from PIT to DFW. The aircraft is in PIT at this time.

Problem Prompts Pilot to Ground Flight

Aug 9, 2005 9:59 am US/Eastern
Pittsburgh (KDKA) A problem with an American Airlines flight at Pittsburgh International Airport prompted the pilot to ground the plane just before takeoff.

According to an airport spokesperson, the pilot noticed a compression problem with the plane and aborted takeoff at the end of the runway.

Fire trucks were called after the pilot noticed the brakes were hot.

Buses took about 120 passengers back to the terminal.

No one was injured.

The story was just updated on the KDKA-TV Pittsburgh Website:

Pittsburgh (KDKA) A problem with an American Airlines flight at Pittsburgh International Airport prompted the pilot to ground the plane just before takeoff.

According to an airport spokesperson, the pilot aborted takeoff after noticing a compression problem with the plane which was bound for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport.

The pilot slammed on the brakes and fire trucks were called to the end of the runway as a precaution.

No one suffered any injuries and buses took about 120 passengers back to the terminal. They're all expected to get a later flight to Texas.

Once the brakes cool down from the hard stop, crews will inspect the plane.

What? The plane was shorter than it was supposed to be? Or narrower?  Smile

Inspiration, move me brightly!
