Hi, any pilots who fly into PFO and LCA regularly, can you tell me which is the main flight approach into both airports? I recently spent 2 weeks in Pissouri, nr to PFO and Limassol, and saw aircraft flying very low overhead on approach, but flying in both directions, what i want to know is, whether this is a main approach path. Many thanks.

Quoting NYCFlyer (Reply 1): I'm not a pilot, but as a passenger to LCA a few times, we always approach LCA from the east, hug the coast of Larnaca Bay, and land.
That's always the approach I've done every time flying into LCA.
As for PFO - likewise I'm not a pilot, but as my dad has a flat out there, I've flown there more times than I can count. PFO flights tend to come in from the west, south of the island to the east of the airport (nr Pissouri) before looping round and landing in a westerly direction at the airport. Due to the prevailing winds coming from the west off the coast, aircraft almost always land from the east.
Don't forget that at Pissouri you may well have also seen British military transports flying into Akrotiri air base - to the east of Pissouri, close to Limassol.
